I see the trench coat as a powerful statement. It’s modern armor in a sense, offering literal and figurative protection from the outside.

There's also a certain subconscious battle between the fashionable. You know--women dressing up to impress/look better than other women. The fight to be the best styled in the room. Literally in trench warfare.

And if you want to make it in the world of fashion, you better be willing to fight for your life.

So I’ve been in NYC for almost a week now, and believe it or not, I haven’t bought a single thing to wear! However, I’m planning to spend the whole afternoon in the city tomorrow, and I’ve resolved to find something to help supplement/upgrade my wardrobe for working in Manhattan. While clearly, these are leggings, I definitely want some nice, summery tights, possibly in a floral pattern similar to this one. Also actively hunting for a cute pair of flats. They have to be super comfortable, because there’s no way I can stand for an entire shift in heels. Aside from those things, going to try to be good and not spend money on impractical pieces that I don’t really need.
